Aug 21, 2008 at 6:22 PM
Hi,

I downloaded and installed Yabe 0.7 and created a Database in Sql2005 but when I view
default.aspx - it shows a blank page.

What is the URL path that I should use ?

Don't understand the URL Routing scheme yet.

Hello Chupaul

It's because you have MVC preview release 3.0 installed. Microsoft has done some view engine changes and other method updates between version 2.0 and 3.0 which are outlined in the readme file available from MVC 3.0 download page here.

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=92F2A8F0-9243-4697-8F9A-FCF6BC9F66AB&displaylang=en

Also, the step by step migration process is discussed here. Updating from ASP.NET MVC Preview 2 to Preview 3

However, to make your life easier, we have done all the work and uploaded a new release (0.8) this evening which would allow you to run YABE on MVC 3.0 preview release.

Let us know if you run into any issues.

To follow up on what Adnan said, we have actually just released version 0.8 of Yabe which is updated to work with MVC 3.0 preview release.  Please download version as it should resolve some of these problems.

Hi Jeff and Adnan,

Thanks for the tip on Yabe 0.8.
I downloaded and installed.
I didn't update my Yabe Sql 2005 Database with 0.8 Sql Scripts ( wondering if that's necessary ? )

I tried the Login link.
I see a tabbed page with Login / Home / About.
Login - http://localhost:3671/Login
    The Logon page doesn't seem to work ? jeff/jeff
Home - http://localhost:3671/Posts/Index
    Home page is empty.

About - http://localhost:3671/Posts/About
   Shows some content

Is this the expected behaviour ?

I need to review the RouteMap logic in the global.asax.cs.
Still trying to understand this.

Thanks, chupaul

The sql scripts have not changed yet.

1. I would do the following first in the web.config make sure your connection string is pointing to the database.

2. There was a bug when we converted to asp.net mvc preview 3.  This is preventing login and index from working.  Pleas change the Index function in the PostsController to
the following

public ActionResult Index()
        {
            return List();
        }

This should fix your problems.  The main admin entry is at http://localhost/Admin/Index  which has the menu for logging in and adding entries.
Also we have another theme.  To use this change the web.config BlogTheme key to Django.  This theme has the tag cloud and the blog roll and link list.
